Art is an on going dialogue because the process of creating art is a conversation between the artist and the materials used to create art. This dialogue always, takes the artist one step further in gaining depth and understanding in the work(s) created. Each time we engage in the process of creating art we also learn something about our own response to the world around us. Although the work it self is important, at times the process can become more instrumental to the artist than the completed work(s).

Shapes and the elements used to create a design
Being open to the influences around you means that some times a shape will influence me to create a piece of jewelry. The shape of stone or the shape of a flower petal can become incorporated into the design of a pendant or a pair of earrings.

Questions about the living a creative life
Life is an on going dialogue; The stage is set each day.
The scenes change moment by moment; choices, motivations, senses, responses all write the story.
If Art is your driving force, how do you play your part to the fullest?
How do you engage the world around you and yet not become overwhelmed by it?
How do you develop your artistic voice , promote yourself and yet still live a somewhat private life?

What influences drive you to create?
To me, living the life of an Artist means opening myself up to the world around me.
I must accept external forces and allow them to influence what I create. But I must also bring upon these influences what is deep within my heart mind and soul.

Thoughts on the creative process.
An idea is just creation waiting to happen.
A creation is often a solution to a problem an artist presents to him or herself.

Although I live in Stormville NY, I work part time as a teaching assistant in Newtown CT.
I woke up with some jewelry design ideas that I can now work on so the time off will be well spent.
So far the day has been softly and slowly unfolding.
Cold and gray morning, icy rain falling.
Warm house, cat sitting on my desk while I write these thoughts.
Husband Steve tucked away in bed welcoming well deserved extra sleep.
So off to my studio I will go, wishing everyone a pleasant day.
